The 168th Street bridge over West Dodge Road will be closed during the overnight hours all this week, the Nebraska Department of Transportation announced Monday.
The bridge closure from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night from Monday through Friday will allow workers to add a surface treatment to the bridge deck, the Transportation Department said in a press release.
Although the bridge itself will be closed, the on- and off-ramps to West Dodge Road will remain open.
The work is part of a larger project to improve West Dodge and its associated bridges from 168th Street to Skyline Drive in west Omaha. In addition to rebuilding bridge decks, the Transportation Department is installing curbs and culverts and replacing guardrails, lights and overhead signs. The project was begun in August and will continue through next spring, with a pause from December through March.
