13th annual Turkey trot in Belington [Video]

BELINGTON, W.Va (WDTV) –

Saturday was the 13th annual turkey trot 5k and where people signed up to either run or walk in the trot. This 5k is a way to raise money for two organizations in the Belington community.

“The first organization is heart in hand ministry, and they have a food bank pantry . said Ruf. All of the proceeds that we raise from our 5k goes to support the food pantry. The another program is next door neighbors in Belington that is the Presbyterian Church’s.”

Both or these local organizations support the community. The Belington Presbyterian church puts on a Thanksgiving meal program every year.

The head of the Thanksgiving dinner program said that they have been doing this for many years.

“This turkey trot is responsible for us being able to do the dinner. The wonderful people of Belington and supporting countries love us and take care of us said …
