CLEVELAND — A man was shot dead and another is “critically injured” after being assaulted at a Halloween party in Springfield Township early Sunday morning, according to police.
Officers responded to a party on Canton Road at around 12:15 a.m. and found two adult men suffering from injuries. One of the victims had sustained an apparent gunshot wound while the other had “injuries consistent with an assault,” police said in a social media post.
Police said the shooting victim died from his injuries at a nearby hospital. The assault victim remains hospitalized as of 9 a.m. Sunday.
Police are not naming either of the victims “pending notification of family members.”
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to the scene to investigate.
