The crash, which officials called a “very tragic accident,” sent a holiday-season jolt through the community. Alexia Rosales, a 22-year-old teacher at ExcellED Montessori Plus Daycare Preschool, was killed after she was pinned under a car that crashed into the fencing of a play area, and five 1-year-olds were hospitalized.
Four of those babies have since been released, with only Mkaya Amrani still receiving treatment. She remains in critical condition, according to loved ones.
MKaya’s father released a statement asking for prayers for a quick recovery and expressed his condoleneces to the family of MKaya’s teacher who lost her life due to the crash.
